Kroger's Lebanon store is back open after a fire forced shoppers and employees to evacuate Tuesday night.

An electrical problem with a fan was suspected as the cause of the fire, which occurred at around 7:40 pm at the store on 2420 N. Lebanon St. Firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke inside the building. All employees and customers were able to evacuate the store safely.

Kroger says damage was limited to one wall case in the produce department. No other areas of the store were impacted.

Employees cleaned the store under the guidance of Kroger food safety experts and the local health department officials.

Kroger says access to the produce department is temporarily blocked, but that department was expected to reopen by noon Wednesday.

The Boone County Health Department also responded to the fire to evaluate food items inside the store.
