Lawyer seeks gag order in Carmel High hazing case

Carmel - Lawyers for an ex-Carmel High School basketball player accused of assaulting students in a locker room and team bus are seeking a gag order in the case.

A hearing is set for July 9 on the request.

The lawyers are asking a judge to limit what comments can be made by people involved in the case. The request covers lawyers, investigators, police, court employees, victims and others.

The request is from lawyers for 19-year-old Robert Kitzinger. They say media coverage is prejudicing his rights to a fair trial.

The other defendants are 18-year-olds Oscar Falodun and Brandon Hoge and 19-year-old Scott Laskowski.

A lawyer for one 14-year-old complainant says his client was sodomized through his shorts.
