Late bucket puts Indiana in Women's NIT quarterfinals

Simone Deloach's layup with 11 seconds left pushed Indiana into the quarterfinals of the Women's NIT.

Deloach, a senior from Round Rock, Texas, grabbed five rebounds for the Hoosiers, but her only points of the game gave IU their first lead and the 65-64 win over Northwestern Thursday night in Bloomington. The Wildcats had a chance to steal the win in the closing seconds, but Maggie Lyon's jumper was off the mark.

Larryn Brooks led Indiana with 15 points and three assists.

The Hoosiers improved to 21-12 on the season, setting a school record for victories. They will travel to Brookings, S.D. to face South Dakota State in the quarterfinals Sunday afternoon. The Jackrabbits defeated Minnesota 70-62 Thursday night.
