Lafayette police investigate Sunday robberies

Police are investigating two separate robberies Sunday in Lafayette.

Investigators say a white male in his 40s displayed what appeared to be a handgun and demanded money from a cashier at the ALDI grocery store on Sagamore Parkway South. The robbery happened around 11:30 a.m. Sunday.

The man, described as standing about 5'5" tall and wearing a dark-colored shirt and blue jeans, got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Around 7:30 p.m. Sunday, police responded to the report of a robbery of a Papa John's pizza delivery driver in the 3100 block of Vinton Street. The suspect approached the driver on foot and demanded money and pizza.

That suspect is also described as a white male wearing dark clothing and a ski mask. No injuries were reported.

The man fled on foot in an unknown direction.
