A Kokomo teenager is building career aspirations as he spends hundreds of hours as a volunteer in a hospital emergency room.
The Kokomo Tribune reports Stephen Coble has logged more than 350 volunteer hours in the Community Howard Regional Health emergency room over the last two years. Nurse Sue Giddens says he's there nearly every Saturday during the school year.
Coble visits with patients, takes them to procedures and stocks and cleans their rooms.
He says his favorite part of the work is interacting with patients and their families.
Coble hopes to pursue a degree in nursing once he finishes high school.
