Kokomo offers weather radios for $9
A north central Indiana community unprotected by tornado sirens is making NOAA Weather Radios available for $9.
The City of Kokomo is selling the First Alert radios at City Hall. A weather radio is the best way to protect your family during severe weather. You can program what counties you want to receive alerts for, and as long as you keep the batteries fresh, it will alert you anytime there is a watch or warning - even waking you up in the middle of the night.
The First Alert Model WX-150 weather radio, available at City Hall, has proven to be effective for immediately announcing all severe weather warnings issued to the Kokomo area.
The City of Kokomo does not have tornado sirens, unlike many other Indiana communities.
For more detailed information, please visit the city's website or call the Weather Radio Hotline at 456-7388.
