Mayor Greg Goodnight was threatened with contempt of court Tuesday.

The Howard County sheriff took the mayor to see Howard County Superior Court I Judge William Menges Tuesday afternoon. Pictures from the KokomoPerspective.com showed Mayor Goodnight being led to court.

The issue, according to the Kokomo Perspective, was over access to the courthouse.

Drainage pipes blocked an entrance used to transport prisoners.

The issue was resolved once the pipes were removed.

NOTE: In our original story, we reported that the mayor had been arrested and jailed for contempt of court. We later learned that he was never arrested or jailed; only that the sheriff escorted him to see the judge. WTHR regrets the error.
