Another Hoosier family is learning about the death of a loved one in Afghanistan.

Sgt. Bradley Atwell of Kokomo, 27, was among two Marines killed in a Taliban attack on a NATO base over the weekend. His family will leave for Dover, Delaware Tuesday to receive his body.

Eric Hartman, principal of Taylor High School, made this statement:

"Brad Atwell was a huge part of an awesome class who was no doubt inspired to serve his country after seeing firsthand the events of 9-11. Brad was a gentlemen first and foremost and he preferred to help others as opposed to garnering attention. His death is tragic but makes sense from the standpoint of it occurring during servitude to his fellow man. Brad Atwell was a class act in life and in death and his departure will serve as a reminder to our school and community that freedom comes with a price."

Another indiana family is already there. The family of Army Sgt. Kyle Osborn will bring him home to Tippecanoe County. The 26-year-old died last Thursday from an insurgent attack on his unit.
