Andrew Luck kicked-off his "Change the Play" initiative" Saturday.

Luck partnered with IU Health Riley Hospital for Children to create the new eight-week program.  Each week has a new activity and nutrition emphasis designed to empower kids to take charge of their health.

Fifty kids from around the state were invited to the kick off event including 14-year-old Alan Samuelson.  He has to carefully monitor his diet after he was diagnosed with diabetes.

His mother says she's thrilled Luck is taking a leadership role to promote a healthy lifestyle to children.

"He's a new sports figure.  I think it's great that he's doing this and being a role model. Indianapolis it's great." said Kristie Powell.

Children may sign up for the challenge here.  When the challenge is complete, eight participants will be invited to an exclusive Block Party with Luck in July.
