Jay-Z dropping Nets ownership to become agent

Jay-Z is selling his minority interest in the Brooklyn Nets.

It's because he wants to become certified as a player agent and NBA rules prohibit anyone from being both an owner and an agent. The process is already underway and Jay-Z could be ready to go before the end of the season.

Jay-Z owns less than 1 percent of the Nets. New York Yankee Robinson Cano recently signed to Jay-Z's Roc Nation company for representation.
