Ivy Tech to expand programming in Princeton
Ivy Tech Community College says it will receive $600,000 from the Gibson County Redevelopment Commission to expand programming at a southwestern Indiana site.
Ivy Tech says it plans to use the money to expand training and degree opportunities at the Princeton Instructional Center, including training in high-demand fields such as industrial maintenance, manufacturing and robotics.
It says the money will also allow Ivy Tech to use available space at the instructional center to build a state-of-the-art welding lab. The lab will be used for coursework leading to certificates and degrees, along with continuing education and industry-recognized certification testing.
The Princeton center about 25 miles north of Evansville opened in 2008. Ivy Tech says it has invested about $1.8 million more.
