The Hoosiers begin their national championship run this afternoon in the East Region. Indiana tips off against James Madison University at 4:10 pm.

Friday afternoon, the Indiana Hoosiers begin the tournament trail at the University of Dayton arena. The number one seed is aiming to knock off the James Madison Dukes. The Dukes are a 16 seed, and a 16 seed has never beaten a number one seed.

Coach Tom Crean's crew is calling this a business trip - the first step towards the ultimate goal of winning the NCAA men's basketball title. It would be IU's first title since 1987.

Thursday, IU put on a show at UD arena. There was no messing around.

"We feel like we're clicking, We're one of the best teams in the country so we're a very confident group and we wanna see results," said player Christian Watford.

Jordan Hulls spent extra time working on that jumper. He struggled in the Big Ten Tournament. Now he says IU will be ready.

"We're pretty confident. I think that comes with the preparation that the coaches put us through and how we attack practice and how locked in we are. We need that to carry over to the games," Hulls said.

James Madison is a major underdog. The team with the purple shoes is making their first tourney appearance in nearly 20 years. So what do they think about the big, bad Hoosiers?

"They're big time! In order to be big time, you gotta be big time. We're looking forward to the challenge," said Rayshawn Goins, who said he wasn't intimidated. "They lace up their shoes like we lace up ours."
