IU Foundation reports donations down from 2012
The Indiana University Foundation says it took in about $42 million less in the past year but that still marked its fourth-best year in fundraising.
The foundation says its nearly $306 million for the 2013 fiscal year included about $153 million from donors and $134 million from non-governmental grants.
The Herald-Times reports the foundation saw its second-best year in the 2012 fiscal year by collecting nearly $348 million. The IU foundation's top fundraising year came in 2008 when it was boosted by large donations from an estate and the Lilly Endowment.
About two-thirds of the foundation's funds are being spent on scholarships and financial aid, faculty support or academic programs.
