NOBLESVILLE, Ind. (WTHR) - An Indiana University football player was arrested by Hamilton County Sheriff's deputies during Saturday night’s Jason Aldean concert at Klipsch Music Center.

Simmie Cobbs, according to police, refused to cooperate when asked to take a portable breath test for alcohol.

The wide receiver is facing a preliminary charge of resisting law enforcement and refusal to identify.

The school issued a statement Sunday:

“Indiana University Athletics and the IU football program are aware of the arrest of redshirt junior Simmie Cobbs Jr. We will continue to gather facts, monitor the legal process and take action as the evolving situation warrants."

Cobbs left jail Sunday.

No court date has been set.
