Indiana State Police searched for the driver of a one car accident early this morning - concerned for his welfare due to extremely cold temperatures.

ISP searched for the driver of a car that ran off I-70 near Ronald Reagan Expressway around 4 a.m. Sunday.  When officers arrived on the scene, the driver was gone.  Police wanted to verify the driver's welfare after witnesses said they'd seen him walk away from the accident with a head injury.

Police checked a tree line near the accident.  Then started searching in nearby businesses.

They eventually found the driver at a gas station.

He was taken to the hospital to be checked out.
