Indiana State Police say all 14 districts are taking an "all hands on deck" approach to the coming winter storm.

ISP District commanders across Indiana are putting emergency plans in place to have additional personnel available to respond to calls for service as winter weather converges on Indiana.

Superintendent Doug Carter has directed personnel to apply "all hands on deck" to the approaching winter storm.  Detectives, specialized units, and Commercial Motor Vehicle troopers have been called in to assist district patrol troopers to answer calls for service.  Several units have been called in on regularly scheduled days off and vacation time off.

The Indiana State Police remind motorists to be prepared before they travel in winter weather.  If a trip can be delayed until conditions improve, this is highly suggested.

They also recommend calling ahead to be sure events have not been canceled or postponed.
