Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay made a major contribution to a program for at-risk children Friday night.

Metro police officers, city leaders and neighborhood residents gathered for a meeting to talk about crime solutions. The meeting was held near E. 30th Street and Forest Manor Avenue, just a few blocks from where IMPD Ofc. Perry Renn was shot and killed Saturday night.

Eyewitness Sports Director Dave Calabro presented a check from Irsay in the amount of $100,000 to the HIM By HER Foundation at the meeting.

"I believe it's a long time coming and we've been waiting a long time to have a program like we're trying to implement here. We have to get the doors open. It's going to take a lot of donations to get the doors open, so it's going to take a village to raise a child and that's what we're trying to do here," said IMPD Det. Harry Dunn, the foundation's founder.

Rep. Andre Carson (D-Indiana) also addressed the group at Friday's meeting.
