Irish looking for more from offense vs. Temple

Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly is letting his offense know he's expecting more from them this season heading into Saturday's home game against Temple.

Kelly says the Irish need to score more than last season, when they averaged less than 26 points a game. That was the lowest average of any team playing in a BCS bowl. Kelly says he believes the Irish can do it, despite losing their starting quarterback, their leading receiver and their top two rushers from last season.

Temple coach Matt Rhule wants the Owls to "relish" playing a team that played for the national championship game in January. His message to the Owls, though, is to play loose and confident as Temple seeks just the third victory against a ranked team in the school's history.
