Indianapolis Public School terminated the district's chief financial officer Tuesday night.

An IPS spokesperson tells Eyewitness News Debra Hineline was terminated due to "unsatisfactory performance." The move comes just a week after IPS announced a major reversal in what it thought was a huge financial problem.

For years, the district thought it was running a $30 million deficit. But a review by new superintendent, Dr. Lewis Ferebee, found an $8 million surplus.
