IPL to announce plans for Martinsville plant
A new power plant in central Indiana could create more than 600 construction jobs in the state.
Inside Indiana Business confirmed Tuesday that IPL will announce plans for a $631 million generating plant in Martinsville. The project will be announced at a news conference Wednesday.
More than 600 construction jobs and 25 permanent positions could be created by the project, IIB reported. The project still needs approval from the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission.
Governor Mike Pence is expected to join IPL leaders, as well as government officials and economic leaders from Morgan County at Wednesday's announcement in Martinsville.
