An Indianapolis man's plan to pay off overdue school lunch accounts for students in the city's schools is paying off.

Ryan Cox used social media to inspire others to pay it forward last week. Monday, he wrote a check for $1,700 to Lakeside Elementary to off the delinquent lunch accounts there.

Cox collected so much money, he's less than $50 away from paying off accounts at two other schools.

"To have it be so much, so fast, has caused us just to think, 'Well, what's next?' So it really makes me feel good that I was able to motivate people to paying it forward like this," Cox said Monday.

He's now creating a non-profit organization online so that other people in other cities can pay it forward the same way.
