Indianapolis woman arrested for abusing son at south side Walmart
An Indianapolis woman is facing battery and neglect charges after police say she was caught on surveillance cameras at a Walmart abusing her three-year-old son.
It happened Sunday at the Walmart on US 31 on the city's south side.
According to the police report, the store's security officer saw Sarah Cartner hit the crying child on his head several times, slam him down in the cart, pinch him and pull his hair. The store called police, and Cartner was arrested when she left the store.
The officers noticed redness and a bruise on the child.
Child Protective Services are also investigating.
