Indy Snow Force says it's sending 350 snow plows into city neighborhoods to help clear snow-covered roads.

Indianapolis recorded about 7.5 inches of snowfall Wednesday. The added plows mean that an additional 4,000 lane miles will be cleared.

All residential areas that do not have a neighborhood association responsible for plowing will be addressed through the evening.

Indy Snow Force will continue to work through the night with a new shift of 118 drivers reporting at 11 p.m. to ensure the roads are safe for rush hour commuters. Right now these drivers are plowing main thoroughfares and secondary streets. Drivers have been instructed to start salting roads once pavement is visible.

Indy Snow Force will continue to monitor the weather conditions throughout the night and will treat the roads as long as it's necessary.
