Indianapolis teen, 16, charged in east side murder
A 16-year-old Indianapolis boy has been charged for an east side murder.
Avis Lacy was arrested and formally charged in the murder of 34-year-old Ray Ivory of Indianapolis. Ivory was shot in the 1500 block of Cumberland Road January 14 and was driven to a gas station near East 21st Street and Mitthoefer Road, where police and medics were called.
Ivory was taken to IU Health Methodist Hospital in critical condition, where he died the following day.
Lacy is charged with murder, robbery, use of a firearm by a serious violent felon, all felonies, and a misdemeanor charge of carrying a handgun without a license.
Police believe Lacy's motive was robbery. He is being charged as an adult for the crimes.
