Indianapolis robbery suspect shoots himself in the leg
Indianapolis Metro Police say a robbery suspect shot himself in the leg while trying to rob a business on E. 38th Street.
It happened at 3719 East 38th Street at a check-cashing business Tuesday afternoon.
Police believe two men walked into Indy Check and Loan next to the Family Dollar store. One of them reached into his pocket to pull out a gun. In the process, the gun discharged, striking the man in the leg.
The man handed the gun to his accomplice and the accomplice fled the scene. Police eventually tracked him to a home on the east side.
Both suspects were taken into custody.
