Indianapolis residents sought for cancer survey

When you want to fight cancer, one way is to donate money for research. The other way is to become part of a database.

The push is on to recruit 300,000 adults between the ages of 30 and 65 by the end of 2013 who have never been diagnosed with cancer.

It's a national study, but Indianapolis is hosting the very last enrollment sites between November 16 and December 6.

It's a two-step process. First, find a location near you. Then request an appointment.

You will then get an email, where you fill out a comprehensive health survey. At your appointment, you get a waist measurement, and a small blood sample. Then you will periodically receive mailed surveys at home every few years.

You will also receive an annual update on what research is underway with the data collected.
