Indianapolis reaches settlement with Bisard crash victims
The City of Indianapolis has reached a settlement with the remaining victims in the David Bisard crash.
The Indianapolis Metro Police officer crashed his police cruiser into a group of motorcyclists who were stopped at a red light in August 2010. He faces charges of reckless homicide in the crash, along with other charges. Eric Wells died and Kurt Weekly and Mary Mills were critically injured.
The city has agreed to pay Weekly and Mills, who are married, a total of $2.3 million. Weekly was awarded $1.35 million and Mills $975,000.
A $1.5 million settlement was reached with the family of Eric Wells in June 2012.
The agreement with Mills and Weekly states Bisard is not part of the settlement.
