Indianapolis named finalist to host another Final Four

Indianapolis is among eight finalists to host another Final Four.

The NCAA announced the finalists for the 2017-2020 men's basketball championships Monday. Indianapolis is bidding for its eighth Final Four, the most recent coming in 2010 when the hometown Butler Bulldogs fell to Duke University in the title game. The Circle City will host the 2015 Final Four at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Atlanta, Minneapolis, New Orleans, North Texas, Phoenix, San Antonio and St. Louis are also finalists for the men's Final Four bids.

Seven finalists were also announced for the women's Final Four in the same time frame, including Columbus, Ohio, Dallas, Houston, Nashville, New Orleans, Pittsburgh and Tampa Bay. Indianapolis is hosting the women's Final Four in 2016.

The winning host cities will be announced in November.
