Indianapolis Museum of Art sponsors nature drawing

The Indianapolis Museum of Art is sponsoring an online drawing competition for digital pieces inspired by the institution's collections and gardens.

First, guests explore the museum's galleries and one of its nature parks, which include gardens, woods, wetlands and a 35-acre lake. Then they are invited to visit a new studio where they can create their own works of art on computer tables and submit them for exhibition.

Media director Silvia Filippini-Fantoni says the idea was stimulated by the success of a recent exhibition of digital works inspired by Matisse.

Experts will choose winners monthly.

The program runs through April 2015.
