A 57-year-old Indianapolis man was found dead in a retention pond on the city's north side Thursday morning. Foul play is not suspected.

It happened at an apartment complex near 96th and Carlyle on the far north side.

The man has been identified as Michael Hoffman. He lived in a nearby apartment with his two brothers. Eyewitness News is told Hoffman had health issues including dementia, and that he walked around the apartment complex frequently.

It's believed Hoffman may have fallen down the embankment. A lawn crew found his body.
