Indianapolis Metro Police are asking patients to come forward after an Indianapolis doctor was arrested.

Dr. Segun Rasaki was arrested Monday by IMPD at his family medical practice at 3266 North Meridian Street in Indianapolis on outstanding warrants for Sexual Battery (D felony) and Battery (B misdemeanor).

Police have accused Rasaki of inappropriately touching several of his female patients. He told Eyewitness News that is not the case.

"They know who I am. The good ones know who I am and there are always bad eggs, so like I said, we will give, uh, to see what the court system to do on these cases," Rasaki said.

He said after practicing medicine for 25 years - 12 of those in Indiana - he has never had any complaints or investigation until now and finds the allegations shocking.

"Yeah, I was shocked, but in the course of a practice in any situation, you can find people that will say things, but I leave all comments to my lawyer," said Rasaki.

But police say otherwise. They said investigation into Rasaki was sparked after several female patients filed complaints. IMPD Ofc. Kendale Adams says the charges are battery and sexual battery.

Police are not saying when the complaints started coming in, or how many patients are involved. They are asking those that might have been victimized or witness to inappropriate behavior by Rasaki to come forward.

Rasaki is also not saying when the investigation started or how many patients are involved. He turned himself in to police first thing Mondy morning.

"I just got a postcard in the mail over the weekend that I should report to the police. I reported myself with my lawyer," he said.

The state has also suspended his license to prescribe certain medications.

Anyone with additional information on this case is encouraged to call the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department Sex Crimes Unit at 317-327-3332.
