Two Indianapolis-area taxi companies have lost their licenses to operate, and the city wants customers to be on the lookout.

The Indianapolis Department of Code Enforcement (DCE) says it has denied taxi license renewals for Broad Ripple Village Taxi and A-United Taxi for failure to comply with various requirements.

DCE is concerned that Broad Ripple Village and A-United Taxis may try to operate unlicensed. Customers are asked not to hire any taxi operated by Broad Ripple Village Taxi or A-United Taxi.

If you spot any of their taxis in operation, please contact DCE at (317) 327-TAXI or at Be ready to provide your name and contact information and the taxi cab number.
