Indiana troopers arrest 65 at diesel truck show

Indiana State Police say officers issued more than 750 traffic citations and arrested 65 people on criminal and alcohol-related charges during a diesel truck show at the Vigo County Fairgrounds in Terre Haute.

Sgt. Joe Watts said Sunday that officers working the Scheid Diesel Extravaganza on Friday and Saturday arrested 27 people for driving under the influence. They arrested 15 others on other alcohol-related offenses and 18 people for felonies and misdemeanors.

Watts says the arrests were down from those at the event last year.

Indiana Excise Police say they cited or arrested 148 people on 178 charges, mostly for illegal possession or consumption of alcohol. Five females were cited for public nudity.

The event draws thousands of diesel truck enthusiasts for truck and tractor pulls and related events.
