Indiana State Police officer found dead in home
An Indiana State Police corporal was found dead in his home Friday afternoon.
Police say Michael J. Capicik, 52, of Terre Haute, was found unresponsive in his bathroom by a friend.
Foul play is not suspected and it's believed a medical condition may have played a role in his death.
Indiana State Police say that Capicik was planning on retiring next month after serving in the force for 28 years.
Capicik was a graduate of the ISP 43rd Recruit School and appointed on November 10, 1985. He took on many different roles during his career, including road trooper, underwater search and recovery diver, supervisor on the overnight shift, Harley Davidson Motor Patrol unit, and most recently in the Indiana Intelligence Fusion Center in Indianapolis.
An autopsy is scheduled for late Tuesday afternoon at Terre Haute Regional Hospital. Family has been notified.
