For the first time, Indiana will crown six football state champions this Thanksgiving weekend.

On Friday, the 1A, 3A and 5A championship games were scheduled, and on Saturday, 2A, 4A and 6A will play. Full schedule here.

The day started off at Lucas Oil Stadium with a match between the smallest schools out of all the divisions. Eastern Hancock was looking to complete a perfect season, but Tri-Central took control of the game. Tri-Central won 20-10 for their first state class championship ever for the Trojans, who hail from Sharpsville in Tipton County.

"It means everything," said Tri-Central quarterback Cody Howell. "It's our first time getting this far in school history. We have a lot of fans out here who used to play football and having their support means so much to the community to see this win."

George Gilbert, Tri-Central's coach, added, "I'll tell you what. Everybody's gonna know where Sharpsville is! When you beat the best - and they were the best - we caught them on a bad day. They started out slow, couldn't catch up. But I have the greatest respect for Eastern Hancock and their coaching staff and everything they did. Our kids came out strong!"

Tri-Central is the first state champion to be crowned this weekend.

In the 3A final, Andrean defeated Brebeuf, 35-27.
