Indiana residents urged to update voter details

Indiana residents are being urged to update their voter registrations as officials continue trimming outdated information from the state's list of voters.

Secretary of State Connie Lawson announced Thursday the office will begin sending a second round of postcards to addresses before removing names from the state's list. The mailing is to addresses where postcards were returned to her office after the first round of mailings.

If residents do not respond to the second round of mailings, their voter registration will be considered inactive. Those people can still vote, but they could be removed from the rolls if they don't vote again before 2017.

Voters who receive a second postcard should return it by July 24.
