Indiana-Purdue Fort Wayne going tobacco-free
Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne has announced it will become a smoke-free and tobacco-free campus effective April 1.
IPFW officials say that the use of cigarettes, cigars, oral tobacco, electronic cigarettes and all other tobacco products will be prohibited on campus and other sites controlled, operated, or leased by the university.
Chancellor Vicky Carwein says the new policy will help provide a healthy place to learn and work for IPFW's some 14,000 students and its faculty and staff.
IPFW will join Indiana University's main campus in Bloomington and all regional campuses of Purdue and IU in adopting smoke- and tobacco-free policies.
