Indiana Military Museum opens at new Vincennes site
A museum dedicated to U.S. military history has completed its move to new quarters with a grand opening celebration in Indiana's oldest city.
Crowds of visitors turned out Friday to toast the Indiana Military Museum's opening in the former Blackford Glass Factory building near downtown Vincennes.
Museum founder Jim Osborne told the Vincennes Sun-Commercial (http://bit.ly/11w6wLL ) he was "thrilled to see so many people" at the event and a ribbon-cutting for the museum's newest addition, an F-4 Phantom jet.
The honorary guests on hand included retired astronaut Capt. Frank Culbertson Jr. and George Patton Waters, the grandson of Gen. George S. Patton.
Patton Waters says the glass factory looked like "a bombed-out stable" before the renovation began, but now it's "packed with information."
