Indiana Lt Governor leaving on trade mission to Asia
Lt. Gov. Sue Ellspermann is heading overseas to promote Indiana's agriculture industry.
Ellspermann announced Wednesday that she will lead a delegation of industry leaders and commodity representatives on a mission to Asia. The delegation plans to visit Japan, South Korea and Taiwan for two weeks beginning Saturday.
The lieutenant governor says she'll seek to build new business relationships and let Indiana leaders explore opportunities overseas.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture reports Indiana exports close to $4.7 billion in farm goods each year and is one of the top exporters of corn, pork and soy meal.
