Indiana looks for defensive improvement after bye

Indiana used the bye week to try and get its defense right.

Indiana (2-2) ranks among the nation's worst teams in yielding points per game (32.8), yards rushing (247.8) and total defense (463.3). And if they don't get it fixed now, Saturday's Big Ten opener against Penn State could be the start of an ugly conference season.

Coach Kevin Wilson didn't make any significant changes to the depth chart. But to improve, Wilson said Monday that the Hoosiers have to do a better job of following their assignments and communicating on game day.
