Indiana judge to rule on stage collapse suit schedule

A judge hearing several lawsuits filed over last summer's deadly Indiana State Fair stage collapse says he'll rule by early next week on a schedule for resolving those suits and a request to expand an existing gag order.

Marion Superior Court Judge Theodore Sosin said Wednesday he'll rule then on a proposed agreement to go to trial after April 1, 2014.

Attorney Kenneth J. Allen asked Sosin for permission to release a transcript of depositions by country duo Sugarland, which was scheduled to perform Aug. 13 when stage rigging collapsed and killed seven people. Allen says releasing the transcript would help the plaintiffs he represents counter what he calls "misleading" statements by Sugarland's public relations team.

Sosin said the depositions shouldn't be released because they're covered by a gag order.
