Indiana Governor Mike Pence in minor car crash

Governor Mike Pence's office confirms he was involved in a minor accident Thursday morning.

Pence spokeswoman Christy Denault says neither the governor and nor any of the other passengers required medical attention following Thursday morning's accident, which occurred in Indianapolis near the Indiana Statehouse as Pence was heading to a bill signing in Fort Wayne.

Denault says Pence got into a separate state vehicle after the accident and was on his way to Fort Wayne. She did not immediately have other details, including what caused the accident.

The governor's Chevy Tahoe was northbound on Pine when a woman driving east on Vermont ran a stop sign. Indiana State Police gave the woman a ticket for disregarding the stop sign.

The governor was not driving the vehicle. (An Indiana State trooper is assigned to drive the governor's vehicle.)
