Indiana government gets back to work after weather
It's back to work day for the Indiana government today.
The Indiana House and Senate are scheduled to open the 2014 legislative session this afternoon after canceling yesterday's opening day because of snow and Arctic temperatures. Because of the start was postponed a day, the bill filing deadline has been extended by one day until Monday. The session is scheduled to end March 15.
Indiana's appellate judges, including the Supreme Court justices, also are scheduled to be back at work today, but not until 1 p.m. The courts are scheduled to return to normal hours on Wednesday.
Governor Mike Pence ordered government offices that were closed yesterday to reopen today at 10 a.m. Essential personnel were told to report to work at their regularly scheduled times.
