Indiana is awarding scholarships to seven walk-ons.

Coach Kevin Wilson said Thursday that David Blackwell, John Laihinen, Jake Michalek, Isaiah Roundtree and Jake Zupancic will be on scholarship this fall. Offensive lineman Collin Rahrig and defensive back Alexander Webb, incumbent starters, were given scholarships after spring practice.

Rahrig was voted Indiana's most outstanding walk-on in 2011. Webb is a fifth-year senior who made two starts last season.

Laihinen, a defensive end, was Indiana's defensive scout team player of the year in 2011 while Roundtree, a running back, was offensive scout player of the year.

Michalek is a second-generation Hoosier. His father, Tony, played for the Hoosiers in the early 1980s.

Zupancic is one of six Indiana players from Indianapolis Cathedral. Blackwell is a Bloomington native.
