IMPD investigating fatal motorcycle accident on the southeast side

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police are investigating an accident at Acton Road and Southeastern Avenue Saturday morning that killed a passenger on the motorcycle and seriously injured the driver. 

Officers were dispatched to the scene on the far southeast side  around 11 a.m. and found a man and woman on the motorcycle critically injured. The female passenger, later identified as 59-year-old Teresa Wilson of Indianapolis, was immediately transported to Eskenazi Hospital but died a short time after arriving at the hospital. The man who was driving had serious leg injuries and was transported to Eskenazi.

According to officers at the scene a car was traveling westbound on Southeastern Avenue when the driver was attempting to turn south on Acton Road and struck the motorcycle that was traveling eastbound on Southeastern Avenue. 

Investigators do not suspect alcohol to be a factor in the accident. The driver of the car is cooperating with the investigation and is submitting to a blood draw.
