IMPD identifies east side shooting victim, suspect
A suspect is in custody after a man was shot and killed on the far east side of Indianapolis on Saturday afternoon.
Police were dispatched to the 11000 block of Whistler Drive, near 21st and Cumberland Road, just after 1 p.m. on the report of shots fired. Officers arrived to find a victim dead and took a suspect into custody shortly after arriving.
The victim was identified as Chad Jackson, 41, of Noblesville. Indianapolis Metro Police arrested Kevin Hughes in connection with the shooting.
Investigators believe there was an argument between the victim and another subject outside a residence. The shooter remained on scene and was taken into custody by assisting officers from Cumberland Police Department.
