Indianapolis Metro Police have identified the body of a man found in the Broad Ripple canal Monday morning.

Police say Gregory Jarrett, 34, of Indianapolis, was found dead in the canal. An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday to determine the exact cause of death.

A passing cyclist noticed the body near Broadway and Westfield Boulevard Monday morning. That's near College Ave. in Broad Ripple.

The Indianapolis Fire Department dive team located Jarrett's body about ten feet from the bank in three feet of water in the 500 block of Westfield Blvd.

At this time, investigators do not suspect foul play. Additional details will be provided when they are released by investigators.
