Illinois Street bridge reopens in Indianapolis
A busy stretch of Illinois Street in Indianapolis is back open after a year-long construction project.
The Illinois Street bridge over Fall Creek reopened to traffic today.
The $3.5 million project began last summer. The city completely rebuilt the bridge, which had holes, cracks, and exposed joists.
The bridge was originally built in 1899 and was last repaired in 1995.
