IFD fights fire at former Loon Lake Lodge on 82nd St.
Indianapolis Fire Department crews fought a grease fire at the former Loon Lake Lodge Tuesday afternoon.
Workers were removing exhaust hoods with a torch when a fire started in the wall, firefighters say. The workers tried to put the fire out with fire extinguishers, but called 911 when that didn't work. The fire then ran through the duct work in the building and got into the attic.
The building is currently under construction.
Eighteen units responded to the scene including five engines, three ladders along with command and support staff. No injuries were reported.
