IFD dive team finds body in Little Eagle Creek River
Indianapolis Metro Police are working to identify the body of a man in the Little Eagle Creek River Thursday afternoon. The location is just west of the White River near McCarty and Tip Streets.
Indianapolis Metro Police and Indianapolis Fire Department crews responded after receiving an anonymous tip that there was a body floating in the river under the bridge.
No injuries were found on the body. The Marion County coroner's office will work on identifying the body and establishing the manner and cause of death.
An autopsy is scheduled for Friday.
IFD says the area is a known fishing spot. Investigators say the circumstances are unknown and are treating it as a death investigation at this point.
